Artist Development Plan Launched
‘a space’ arts have today launched a new Artist Development plan that will benefit visual artists living and working within the SO postcode area.
The Artist Development plan has been developed following a period of consultation with artists in Southampton and offers a range of support and resources to assist artists in the city.
As part of the plan Artist Development Officer, Alys Scott-Hawkins, will be available for advice and support through pre-booked one-to-one meetings, and at drop-in Artist Information Bureau.
Arch 04 at the Arches Studios will be made available free of charge to visual artists needing short term space for developing, testing and experimenting.
Support for a peer-to-peer network has also been established with artists interested in running practice specific networks urged to get in touch.
An annual Arts Funding Clinic is also being planned, as are regular Artist Voices where artists, curators and programmers from outside the city will be invited to come and share their knowledge and experience. Details of both these events will be confirmed soon.
