Artist Development Programme Update
Thanks to everyone who contributed to our recent artist consultation, which had a great response. Our Artist Development Officer, Alys Scott-Hawkins, is now confirming the details of an Artist Development programme for 2019-20, which will launch in the new year.
Most popular of the proposed activities were: one-to-one meetings and drop-in sessions for advice and support; access to spaces to test new work; funding workshops; and peer-to-peer networks. Details of how to access all of these will be available in January when the Artist Development programme is launched.
The evolving Artist Development plan is the first of it’s kind in Southampton and is being designed in consultation with the artists to offer the support, advice and infrastructure to allow visual artists living or working within the SO postcode area to thrive. Keep an eye on our social media channels and newsletter to be notified once details are on our website.
One of the first opportunities to have come out of the programme is the chance for three SO based artists to attend the Venice Biennale in the form of a 4 week Research Fellowship. More information on this opportunity can be sought at the Information Session on Friday 30th November.
