ArtVaults: Live Programme Continues
We’re now over half way through ArtVaults: Live. Hundreds of visitors have been treated to a diverse programme over the past 3 weekends including Mad King Ludwig’s launch event, sarah filmer’s Knit the Walls, Vivian Chinasa Ezugha’s performance – Rara Avis: The perception of the Gothic, Wilfred Tomescu’s alternative history audio tours, and last weekend’s collaborative workshop with Amy Scott-Pillow, and Noemi Lakmaier’s marathon 4 hour performance on Sunday.
But there’s still more to come, on Saturday perhaps the most bizarre performance comes in the shape of Daniel Tabano’s Sweaty Mystic from 10am until 4pm. Tebano’s re-enactment of the tale of King Canute, will reveal his ability to influence water and his limitations in controlling water’s chaotic nature.
On Sunday, what better venue than Canute’s Palace for not one, but two performances of Walter Shakespeare’s Hold Back the Tide by Sarah Siddons Fan Club at 2pm and 4pm. Be sure to book your free place as capacity is limited.
The final weekend sees Svetlana Ochkovskaya’s live performance and site-specific installation within Canute’s Palace merge themes of the mythical with science fiction. Finally, Robin Price, Kane Applegate & Andy Jones invite people to join a collaborative art activity with the aim to learn maritime knots in a shared kinaesthetic experience, a term they describe as Spontaneity Knotting (book here) on Sunday.
