Events at GHT
We have three exciting events at GHT.
For visual artists – a funding workshop from 10am, followed by a welcome event from 4pm – 7pm, when the team will be on hand to show you round and to tell you about opportunities for exhibiting and getting involved. Tickets and more info are available here.
For music lovers – friends at The Art House are taking over GHT for one night only on October 5th! Expect an atmospheric night of music and spoken word, featuring Dan O’Farrell, Leon C, Ethereal, Guy Heathcoat, Clare Canning and hosted by Duncan Green. Tickets are available here.
On November 1st, come to GHT for a night of music inspired by the building itself. For GHT, PLAYLIST have commissioned a site-specific piece by French horn player Laetitia Stott. Cornicen (The Horn-Blower) uses ancient forms of musical instruments to tell old stories in new ways. Since time immemorial, the sound of a horn has been a signal across the world: a call-to-arms, a warning of danger, or the cry of victory in battle. Through this piece, ancient sounds give new resonance to tales of the past in a new interpretation for a modern age.
Also included in this very special night is a performance of Villa Lobos’ Choros No.7 and a world premiere commissioned by PLAYLIST by London-based composer Hollie Harding. You can buy tickets here.
Looking forward to seeing you at GHT soon!
