Planning permission granted for new public artwork

‘a space’ arts is delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new tiled mural at Newland Place on Larges Lane in Bracknell as part of an ongoing public art commission.

Artist Jenny Tang, who is based in nearby High Wycombe, was selected for the project from an Open Call and has already installed a set of three internal murals in communal areas of the main building.

The external mural will make up the final part of the overall public art scheme at the new residential development, which consists of a complex of 48 homes by leading social housing provider Stonewater.

Jenny’s distinctive illustrative style and colour scheme links each of the murals together, with each one focusing on a different aspect of the site’s local history, including the evolution of the local shopping area, links to highwaymen, and the development of local sports clubs on Larges Lane.

Now that planning permission has been granted the tiles for this final public-facing element can be sent into production.

The mural will be completed in the coming weeks and is the latest in a number of public art projects facilitated by ‘a space’ arts for Stonewater.
