The Hidden Histories Trail returns this February

With the GHT 2023 programme now in full swing, this February sees the return of the popular Hidden Histories walking tour and you’re invited to join us on this new series of fascinating walks.

Launching this February, the Hidden Histories Trail will take participants on an eye-opening walking tour throughout Southampton’s Old Town, providing the opportunity to learn unearthed and unspoken stories of the city’s diverse history spanning over 400 years.

The trail is led by a team of friendly and engaging volunteer guides who have all undergone intensive training as part of the Hidden Histories programme and developed their own research projects exploring the city’s Black History to inform their knowledge and understanding as guides.

The Hidden Histories Trail will be available monthly from February to September and will start and finish at God’s House Tower. The tour costs £5 per person and the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards continuing ‘a space’ arts work to research, learn and share the diverse history of Southampton in new and creative ways.

The Hidden Histories Trails will take place on the following dates:

Saturday 4th February 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 4th March 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 1st April 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 6th May 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 3rd June 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 1st July 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 5th August 11am – 12.30pm, Saturday 2nd September 11am – 12.30pm.
