GHT Creative Writing Group returns this April
Posted: 22/03/2022
The GHT Creative Writing Group returns this April for a new series of creative writing workshops and you’re invited to take part.
Hosted by writer and facilitator Susmita Bhattacharya, the first workshop is inspired by the sounds of Southampton. Exploring the top five languages spoken in Southampton (Polish, Punjabi, Urdu, Pashto and Bengali), the group will listen to a selection of poems in some of these languages, and discuss sound, rhythm and meaning. Incorporating Emily Peasgood’s exhibition When I Grow Up I Want to be a Ship, we will try to create a piece of work that will include music and words exploring the meaning of ‘Home’ – How is Southampton home for you?
GHT Creative Writing Group #1: Sounds of Southampton takes place at God’s House Tower on Saturday 9th April from 1.30pm – 3.30pm. Find out more about the workshop, our host Susmita and how to book here
