RIPE Live: Ripe Plums #01 / BY THE SKIN OF YOUR TEETH

RIPE Live is back this Friday, and we’re celebrating RIPE artists past and present as we launch the first of our two-part graduate showcase.

Join us this Friday as we launch our popular summer of artistic activity on Old Northam Road, the home of RIPE. This is your opportunity to explore our newest RIPE exhibition, Ripe Plums #01. As the first in a two-part exhibition of outstanding work by a group of talented recent graduates from Solent University and Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, the artists will take over the Alfred Arcade with an exciting showcase of new works from photography to painting and sculpture. You can also visit RIPE alumni and painter Megan Georgia Smith’s newly opened exhibition BY THE SKIN OF YOUR TEETH! at the Hidden Wardrobe. This new body of work explores the major themes of young people, the rising use of e-scooters in the city, and the impact both environmentally and socially, through a vibrant and eccentric series of paintings. The Alfred Arms will be open throughout the evening, where we’ll be serving drinks and playing some bangers as the evening comes to a close.

Ripe Plums #01 is on display at the Alfred Arcade throughout the weekend of Friday 29th – Sunday 31st July and is free to visit.
