For the Hidden Wardrobe show, Sharlott will be exhibiting a new piece of work titled Desolate Disney Dreams which is part of a solo exhibition in the windows of the Hidden Wardrobe.
For the Alfred Arcade Banner Commission, we will be revealing the latest Alfred Arcade Banner Commission ‘We can go anywhere from here’ designed by Josef Minta.
On the night, we’ll be bringing you sounds from Address: Movement for Social Change who are a CIC using regenerative means to build community and connection via all forms of electronic music.Their initiatives nurture and develop electronic music and nightlife culture by equipping people with resources, skills and opportunities.
Address acts as an ‘incubator for the underground’, increasing accessibility and equity in electronic music to fuel creativity and connection of all involved. They proudly work beyond the influence of profit-focused objectives, providing alternatives to how artists, performers and audiences engage with electronic music and nightlife in their communities.
The name ‘address’ refers to three priorities: To address the lack of diverse spaces, events and ways that people can experience, enjoy or engage in nightlife and electronic music culture. To address the impact of profit-orientated industries on creativity, innovation, freedom and opportunity. To address issues of representation, inclusivity, community and safety in nightlife culture and electronic music.
Want to hear more about Address? Email [email protected] and sign up to their mailing list to hear what they are doing.
If you are unable to attend don’t worry, we will also be simultaneously launching the exhibition online on our YouTube channel.
