Part of a series of late night events at God’s House Tower, GHT Lates is an opportunity to explore the building by night while enjoying live performances from some of the South’s best musicians.
This month we’re joined by March, Nick Hilder and Winterfalle as part of their Spring Tide Mini Tour featuring a new wave of breaking alt-folk artists from the South West and Channel Islands and live drawing by Chris Riddell.
GHT Lates features:
March is the project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kitty O’Neal. Over the years her story-telling has evolved into a unique pool of sound, transcending the borders between contemporary folk, alt and indie music. march cut her teeth as a solo artist on the Southampton/south UK coast music scene before relocating to London, and has toured around the UK, including multiple slots at Glastonbury and Sofar Sounds. As heard on BBC Radio 6, Folk Radio UK and Amazing Radio USA.
Nick Hilder “Stripped-back, raw, honest lyrics.” | BBC Introducing Channel IslandsA nylon-string newcomer with a strong command of melody, Nick just released his debut record ‘How to Write Love Letters’ to a sold-out London crowd and support from BBC.
Winterfalle is the alt-folk brainchild of London-based songwriter Sam Falle. Founded in Jersey, Sam’s songs are modern folk tales about island life, history, and culture performed as life-affirming singalongs. Debut singles ‘I Know’ and ‘Deadbeat’ caught the attention of Tom Robinson at BBC Radio 6 Music and Huw Stephens on Radio 1. In April 2023, Winterfalle and former Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell collaborated on the song ‘Snowdrops’ about the devastating impact of the Ukraine War. In November 2023, Winterfalle released new album ‘Out of the Sea’, with ‘Miles Off Course’ landing Record of the Week on BBC Introducing Channel Islands.
