Inspired by the Mayflower’s epic journey in 1620, artists from Cowprint of Red Hot Press, Southampton will present an exhibition of prints at God’s House Tower titled ‘Navigating a New World’ from 16th July to 15th August. Printmakers from this local artist group will showcase a wide variety of printmaking processes and technical skills as they draw inspiration from different aspects of the Mayflower’s voyage to the New World.

Cowprint is a group of printmakers based at Red Hot Press print studio in Southampton.  The members range from established artists, with studios of their own, to individuals taking their first steps in printmaking using the open access facilities at Red Hot Press.  Members come together every month under the umbrella of Cowprint to support each other, enjoy talks from speakers and share information.

Red Hot Press is a fine art print workshop based in Southampton, Hampshire offering studio access and courses on a wide range of printmaking techniques.  The studio exists to promote and develop an appreciation and understanding of fine art printmaking by encouraging its members to use printmaking as a vehicle for exploration of artistic expression, communication and creativity.
