Access Commission Announcement

As an organisation, we are always looking to grow and improve so we can better support the artists we work with and the audiences we welcome. This has recently led to the development of our Accessibility Action Plan, helping us gain a clearer understanding of the needs of artists, audiences and our team.

Following an open call earlier this year, we are thrilled to announce that we have commissioned three artists for a series of exhibitions at God’s House Tower: Josie Turnbull, Uma Breakdown and Lady Kitt.

These three Access Commissions are part of our wider commitment to becoming a more accessible organisation. It focuses on creating better opportunities for d/Deaf, disabled, blind or visually impaired, and neurodivergent artists to do their best work. It is one of the first actions from our Accessibility Action Plan, which was shaped through a year of listening, learning and reflecting with artists and access practitioners.

We are proud to share that Josie Turnbull’s exhibition, Our Coffers Were Emptied to Pay for Your Pleasures, will be on show at God’s House Tower from Friday 15 August to Sunday 5 October.

We are excited to follow the journeys of Josie, Uma and Lady Kitt, and to see how their work helps us build a more inclusive and accessible future for all.
