Announcing the recipients of the Making Room Residency 2022/2023.

We’re delighted to announce the successful recipients of the Making Room Residency.
Having released an open call for Southampton based artists earlier this year, we were overwhelmed with the response and following a tough selection process, we can pleased to announce the four local artists and creatives awarded the Making Room Residency for 2022/2023 are: Vicky Barber, Emmanuel Boateng, Jackie Eksi and James Paddock.
As part of the Making Room Residency, each artist will be awarded a fully funded three month residency at the Arches Studios. The residency will provide the recipients with an opportunity to experiment with their practice, explore ideas and mediums and most importantly, provides a studio space without presenting barriers and limitations commonly experienced, such as funding and experience. The residents will also receive continued support from the ‘a space’ arts team throughout their residency, ranging from developmental 1-to-1 sessions to support with marketing and promotion and free access to meeting and communal spaces.
