Artist Open Call: Found Cities, Lost Objects: Women in the City - Digital Billboard Commission

We’re excited to be working in partnership with Southampton City Art Gallery and Arts Council Collection on a new opportunity for Southampton artists and creatives.

Inspired by Arts Council Collection’s latest exhibition, Found Cities, Lost Objects: Women in the City curated by Lubaina Himid CBE, currently on display at Southampton City Art Gallery, Southampton-based artists are invited to create an artwork or design, responding to the themes of the exhibition, which will be displayed on digital billboards around the city in April 2023.

Applications are encouraged from artists of colour and/or who identify as female for this commission in recognition of the systemic and current lack of diversity in the arts.

Successful applicants will be chosen by Turner-prize winning artist, Lubaina Himid CBE.
