Artists, book a 1-to-1 with performance and textile artist Enam Gbewonyo

We’re giving artists and creatives based in the SO postcode area the unique opportunity to book a 1-to-1 with acclaimed artist Enam Gbewonyo.

On the 21st July, textile and performance artist Enam Gbewonyo will be offering three 45 minute zoom 1-to-1 sessions (9-12pm) on a first come first serve basis to artists in the SO postcode and beyond.

Guest artist 1-to-1s are part of ‘a space’ arts’ expanded Artist Voices programme. They are for SO artists who feel they would benefit from a short professional development session with an artist that is currently working with ‘a space’ through our creative programme.

A session with Enam may be of particular relevance to artists already working with or thinking about working with sculpture, textiles, installation and performance.

Book your 1-to-1 by completing the Typeform here

Enam is currently exhibiting a new multi-media commission, Gardez L’Eau, at ‘a space’ arts venue, God’s House Tower.

Gardez L’Eau is presented as part of Meeting Point, a national programme led by contemporary arts agency Arts&Heritage that partners leading UK and international artists with museums and heritage sites to produce new artworks inspired by the museums and their collections.

About Enam Gbewonyo

Textile and performance artist, Enam Gbewonyo’s practice investigates identity, womanhood, and humanity while advocating the healing benefits of craft. Her performances seek to deliver the collective consciousness to a positive place of awareness by creating live spaces of healing. By using craft as her portal she pushes us to face the truth of a dark past and the emotions it brings forth. Thus bringing us to a point of spiritual awareness both of self and humanity. Gbewonyo is also a curator and founder of the Black British Female Artist (BBFA) Collective – a platform that supports emerging black women artists and advocates for inclusivity.
