GHT is reopening this weekend!

Having taken a break for the holidays, we’re delighted to be reopening ‘a space’ arts flagship venue God’s House Tower this weekend. Following a jam-packed year of activity in 2021, we’ve got even more planned for 2022 including more exhibitions, activities and workshops and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back to the Old Town.

This weekend, we’re pleased to be launching the first of 2022’s exhibitions, A Sound Journey to Freedom. Brought to the city by Phantom Limb and Noise in Yangon, with thanks to funding from British Council, ’A Sound Journey to Freedom’ is a collaborative exhibition of musical ideas expressed through visual arts by artists from Myanmar and the UK, responding to and highlighting the ongoing situation in Myanmar – and celebrating the exciting experimental arts community in the country. Entry to the exhibition is free.

You can also visit Stories Behind the Stones, our permanent exhibition which explores the dark and turbulent history of God’s House Tower and delves into the many fascinating stories of the prisoners locked up in this historic medieval building. The exhibition also offers the opportunity to climb to the roof and take in the stunning panoramic views of the Southampton waterfront (*weather permitting).

The GHT Cafe and Bar will also be open and is the perfect place to sit back and relax or catch-up with friends over a coffee. You can enjoy a delicious selection of locally sourced drinks, savoury bites and indulgent bakes including Southampton favourite Hoxton Bakehouse.

GHT is open Friday and Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm.
