GHT reopens this weekend
Posted: 17/01/2023
Having closed for the holidays, we’re pleased to be reopening our flagship venue God’s House Tower this weekend. Following a jam-packed year of activity in 2022, we’ve got even more planned for 2023 including some exciting new exhibitions and events.
This weekend, as GHT reopens you can explore Studio B.A.D’s latest exhibition ‘Architecture through a shared practice’. On display for one weekend, this is your chance to find out more about this Southampton-based architecture collective and their portfolio of projects.
Later in the month, we will be launching Fallow Fields, a new exhibition showcasing works developed by 2022 recipients of the Turning Point for Visual Artists Bursary. Having worked on new projects as part of this developmental programme, you can explore the creative outcomes and ideas produced.
On your visit to GHT, you can also visit Stories Behind the Stones, our permanent exhibition which explores the dark and turbulent history of God’s House Tower and delves into the many fascinating stories of the prisoners locked up in this historic medieval building. The exhibition also offers the opportunity to climb to the roof and take in the stunning panoramic views of the Southampton waterfront (*weather permitting).
The GHT Cafe and Bar will also be open and is the perfect place to sit back and relax or catch-up with friends over a coffee. You can enjoy a delicious selection of locally sourced drinks, savoury bites and indulgent bakes including Southampton favourite Hoxton Bakehouse.
GHT is open Friday and Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm. Plan your visit and see what’s on here
