God's House Tower has won a RIBA Award

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce ‘a space’ arts flagship venue God’s House Tower (GHT) has been awarded a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) award.

GHT is one of thirteen winners across the South, with the accolade validating the immense ambition and hard work behind the monument’s refurbishment and reimagination into a hub for culture and community.

As part of a £3.1 million scheme funded by the National Heritage Lottery fund and public grants, architects and heritage consultants Purcell were appointed as Architects and Conservation Architects to transform GHT into a cultural centre that could host art exhibitions, events and cultural activities. The venue re-opened to the public in September 2019 and is now a vibrant entrance to Southampton’s historically significant Old Town, and has quickly become a beacon of the city’s thriving arts scene, with a number of acclaimed artists having exhibited at GHT.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this historic monument back to life and for your continued support over the the past few years. We’re looking forward to bring even more art, music and life to God’s House Tower.
