RIPE Live returns tomorrow
Posted: 21/04/2022
RIPE season is kicking off early this year with the return of the popular RIPE Live series. Featuring a new exhibition, public art installation and DJ set, this is your chance to explore an exciting display of new works and get to know the artists at the heart of Southampton’s creative community.
The event will start at the Hidden Wardrobe, as we celebrate the launch of ‘How Long Will This Last’, a new exhibition by RIPE graduate and artist Katie Mullender. Featuring a collection of vibrant, textured paintings depicting autobiographical moments from throughout the pandemic, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the works up close and learn more about Katie’s practice.
You can also get an exclusive look at ‘Do You Want What You Want?’, the new banner installation by Signe Eliza Pook at the Alfred Arcade. You can hear from Signe, who will be sharing a few words on the artwork, the meaning behind the message and how it feels to have been selected for the installation.
Southampton-based DJ Hanin will be spinning the decks with a live set at the Alfred Arms and we will be serving drinks throughout the evening.
RIPE Live: How Long Will This Last / DO YOU Want What You Want? takes place at Old Northam Road on Friday 22nd April from 6pm to 10pm and is free to attend.
