‘a space’ arts are pleased to announce a new public art project and now invite Expressions of Interest from artists.  The project will introduce a series of exciting new works into new high quality academic accommodation on Hulse Road, Southampton. 

The vision is for a series of works to populate a number of open spaces across the development along with a signature/headline piece towards the front of the site. Collectively these work will bring a sense of intrigue and enhance the experience of living at Hearth House for its future residents.

The brief asks artists to respond to the theme of Biophilia ‘the innate human affinity with living organic systems’ and we are now inviting Expressions of Interest from artists to propose works that consider how humans and the natural environment experience and support each other.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is Tuesday 30th September at 9am following which up to four artists will be shortlisted for the paid Proposal Development phase before a final artist is selected. The artist will then have until summer 2027 to create and install the works.
