Self-Guided Public Art Walk

We thought we’d highlight some of the public art in and around Southampton’s Old Town.

In light of the current restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic this can be used as a route for anyone living locally to take on their daily exercise whether walking, running, or cycling.

The downloadable map below can be printed out at home or viewed on a smart phone and highlights numerous public art commissions undertaken by ‘a space’ arts as well other notable public art in the area.

While exploring the artworks make sure to abide by social distancing and avoid touching the work.

‘a space’ projects featured include a major commission at the Fruit Market, as well as work by Chris Jenkins, Chris Cudlip, and a forthcoming commission by former Arches resident Ian Kirkpatrick. There’s also work by a former Arches resident, Andrew MacCallum, as well as work by two sets of married couples.
